2019 RAM 1500 Unveiled at Detroit Auto Show

In case you missed it, the 2018 Detroit Auto Show occurred last week, and there were many exciting new FCA US LLC-related vehicle announcements. Here at Shaver Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM & FIAT, we were thrilled to take in all these exciting developments, but one that really stuck out was the 2019 RAM 1500. The current 2018 RAM 1500 is making waves at our dealership, thanks to its combination of power, luxury, and utility-- and the upcoming model looks to improve on all of these aspects.

The first change to the upcoming 2019 RAM 1500 occurs on the exterior, where the heavy-duty pickup truck will receive a new chiseled and more aggressive-looking RAM logo, saying goodbye to its grille crosshairs. To make the truck more lightweight and fuel-efficient, engineers included strategic use of aluminum, including on the tailgate, which can now be dropped using an interior switch or remotely using the key fob. The 2019 RAM 1500 will also be more aerodynamic, thanks to several features such as an active front air dam that deploys at 35 miles per hour, grille shutters that close when air flow isn’t needed, and an optional suspension system that can lower the truck.

Additional improvements to the new RAM truck include a stunning 12-inch Uconnect® touchscreen display and active systems that improve fuel efficiency and assist drivers. Drivers will be able to choose between two different engines: a second-generation 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine or a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine.

At Shaver RAM, we’re eagerly anticipating this new pickup truck, and to learn more, head on over to dealership near Los Angeles, CA.
