Are You Ready for the First Jeep® Pickup Truck In Almost 30 Years?

November 26th, 2018 by

Shaver Chrysler Dodge Jeep® & RAM have dedicated their livelihoods to providing the full range of Chrysler vehicles to the Thousand Oaks, CA area. Whether you’re looking for a 2019 RAM 1500 or a Jeep Grand Cherokee, there’s a vehicle for everyone on our lot. However, there’s something coming that’s going to blow our collective minds.

Jeep hasn’t had a pickup truck since the Jeep Comanche left production in 1992. Since then, there’s been nothing on Jeep pickups for twenty-six years. However, Jeep is getting ready to break the silence with the yet-to-be-revealed Jeep Scrambler – which in itself is a code name. It’s going to be constructed in Toledo, OH, and promises to have some serious power under the hood. The 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 and 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 are set to power the truck, with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission to keep them going.

Of course, there’s no stopping it when it comes to hauling. We’re seeing a 6,500-lb towing capacity and a total payload of 1,400 pounds. Its total weight comes in at 4,675 pounds, which puts it square in the midsize pickup category, a class that RAM vehicles have been lacking since 2011.

However, it seems that the “Scrambler” isn’t concerned with just performing hard work. Jeep is promising next-generation Advanced Safety systems, along with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a minimum of “15 class-exclusive innovations.”

We’re still a couple weeks off from the big reveal, but we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of Jeep pickups. In the meantime, Shaver Auto will continue to provide you with the best new Jeep cars on the market. Stop in today to discover the power of Jeep for yourself.
