Common Vehicle Warning Lights
At Shaver Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we have a massive inventory of vehicles from some of the best auto brands in the industry under one roof. No matter what your taste in the vehicle is, you can find everything from rugged pickup trucks, such as the 2017 RAM 1500, to fuel-efficient sedans at our Shaver auto dealership. One common aspect that you will find among our vehicles other than the high quality is the appearance of important dashboard alerts. We’ve listed a few below for your perusal.
Oil Pressure Indicator
This icon typically looks like a watering pot and it will appear when your engine seems to be running low on oil, or if there is an issue with the oil pressure in your vehicle.
Engine Warning
Another common icon that illuminates in your vehicle is an image of what looks like a submarine with a propeller on it. This is an engine-warning alert that could indicate several things, which is why it’s best to have your engine looked at by one of our Shaver auto technicians.
Brake System Warning
An exclamation point inside of a circle and parentheses is a brake system warning light. This means that your brake fluid could be low or your braking system could be malfunctioning in another way. If you see this warning light, then it is best to bring it into our service center at Shaver Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
Transmission Temperature
The appearance of a gear icon with what looks like a key in the middle is the transmission temperature warning light. When this shows up, it means that your transmission fluid is overheating. To fix this, you must have a technician check the coolant and current level of the transmission fluid.
